Paper for the People

Paper for the People provides moments of pause and reflection through hand-cut paper art originals and fine art prints. The work is a celebration of community and New York City. It asks us to imagine what is possible when we invest in one another, engage with curiosity, and acknowledge the strengths that exist in our differences. It is a celebration of the collective human experience and a dream of what’s possible when we truly see and value one another.

Alexis Viele began Paper for the People in 2018 and has provided a return to empathy, curiosity, and wonder through unique, dimensional, hand-cut paper art.

Her work was awarded first prize with Fiber Art Now’s Paper Made II, and she has exhibited with Taber Gallery and the Women’s Caucus of the Arts, D.C. Clients include Viacom, Conde Nast, Tiffany & Co., among others.

Based in Brooklyn, NY, custom work and portraits are available through commission.
