RAMONA CHAN
Ramona Chan is my ongoing artistic project, where I bring together illustration, mural painting, and handmade objects into a shared visual universe. Based in Brooklyn, I create felted pieces, dolls, dreamcatchers, wall hangings, and textile-based work using needle felting and traditional techniques, always working in small batches with a strong focus on detail, texture, and storytelling.
My background is in advertising and illustration, but my practice evolved through material exploration. What began with translating drawings into physical objects grew into a deeper process of working with wool, fabric, and mixed media, where experimentation and attention to detail became central to my work.
My visual language is shaped by the richness of Mexican folk and graphic traditions, combined with my admiration for Japanese kawaii aesthetics and elements of Native American visual heritage.
I aim to create tactile and visual experiences that invite curiosity, warmth, and emotional connection across different formats, from small-scale objects to larger painted surfaces.
