Taste Buds Required is a Black woman-owned NYC food brand rooted in the bold, soulful flavors of the Caribbean. What started as a food blog in 2014 has grown into a culinary product line celebrating Haitian heritage through small-batch pantry staples designed for modern kitchens.

Our signature products — a tangy, fermented pikliz (Haitian pickled slaw), a sweet-spicy hot honey, and a versatile epis seasoning base — are crafted to bring island flavor home. Each product is made with quality ingredients, cultural intention, and the kind of depth that turns everyday meals into something memorable.

Based in NYC and proudly representing the Caribbean diaspora, Taste Buds Required is building a pantry that tastes like home — no matter where home is. We also offer full-service catering for events and brand activations.
