Butter & Lye is a Brooklyn-based skincare company offering non-toxic body care products formulated with simple, all-natural ingredients. Founder Monique Kofsky, a biochemist with over a decade in biotech, started Butter & Lye in her kitchen after struggling with her own skin issues and becoming more aware of hidden toxins in everyday products. What began as a personal solution quickly grew into a community-driven brand rooted in transparency, purpose, and clean ingredients. Since launching in 2020, we’ve donated over 7,000 bars of soap to people in need through our bar-for-bar initiative.
