Ricamo Strano
Ricamo Strano creates original fiber art and mixed-media works rooted in fashion history, vintage imagery, and the emotional language of textiles, blending embroidery, collage, and archival reference.
Founded in 2024

Ricamo Strano is an independent fiber art studio creating one-of-a-kind embroidered artworks, mixed-media collage pieces, and small-batch textile objects inspired by fashion history, vintage imagery, and the storytelling power of handmade detail. The studio’s work blends traditional embroidery techniques with archival photographs, designer color studies, and found materials, resulting in pieces that feel both intimate and historically informed. In addition to original artworks, Ricamo Strano offers limited-run embroidery kits and patterns designed to invite others into a slower, more intentional creative practice.

Founded by textile artist and fashion historian Jacqueline Strano, Ricamo Strano grew out of a background in fashion merchandising, teaching, and years of research into historic dress and material culture. What began as a personal studio practice evolved into a small creative business rooted in the belief that textiles hold memory, emotion, and cultural meaning. Each piece is made by hand, often as a single edition, emphasizing craftsmanship, impermanence, and the value of unique objects in an increasingly mass-produced world.

Ricamo Strano serves collectors, art buyers, and craft enthusiasts who value handmade work with narrative depth and visual impact. The studio specializes in embroidery, collage, and textile-based storytelling, with a focus on one-of-a-kind pieces and thoughtfully limited releases. What makes the work distinct is its intersection of fine art, craft, and fashion history—honoring traditional techniques while recontextualizing them through a contemporary lens.
