Sock Puppet City aims to bring handmade art and puppets to cool kids of all ages. Through unique puppets, stories, music, and fun, we work to build connections that spark joy and wonder. We create one-of-a-kind opportunities to activate imaginations through genuine experiences.

Sock Puppet City offers handmade sock puppets and Sock Puppet Portraits designed and created by Brooklyn-based artist Marty Allen. Each puppet and puppet portrait has a story of their own—both included with the puppet and extended onto the internet and stage. We also have our own line of unique puppet merchandise, including stickers, magnets, pins and more. In addition to the products we sell, we also provide live interactive performances, featuring puppetry, original music and theatrical adventures. It’s a unique, New York-based business that we like to refer to as being for ‘cool kids of all ages’—we’ve created something that is fun, engaging, and affordable for whole families. We prioritize accessibility in our work and are recognized experts in creating experiences for neurodivergent and disabled communities.

Originally simply ‘Martystuff’, Sock Puppet City has been evolving as an artist’s brand for nearly twenty years, offering imaginative interactive art to thousands of families and fun folks from across the world. In 2020, Sock Puppet City added Leigh Walter to the team as director, co-producer, and business manager, and we have grown to become a small family business of two.
