Curious Forest Couture

🌿Hi! I’m Lissa, a full-time maker, granny, and retired school psychologist. I started my handmade business a long time ago as a way to conquer anxiety and express my creativity. Since retiring from working with preschoolers with disabilities, I spend time snuggling my grandbaby and making things. Curious Forest Couture (a cottagecore boutique for upcycled clothing and other whimsical things) has become my full-time hobby/business. I love selling what I make and figuring out what my customers like. I vend at the Grand Bazaar NYC about 4 times a year, where I gather the most customer input. Each piece is crafted individually in my Brooklyn home studio using upcycled and thrifted materials. With the help of my assistant, Penny, the bearded Chihuahua, I create needle-felted sweaters and embroidered linen shirts, as well as earthy jewelry, elven fantasy necklaces, and patchwork bags. I love making sustainable fashion for people who embrace quirkiness with style! 🐞
