Casa Maso
Years ago, I took a silversmithing class at the 92nd Street Y in New York City and immediately knew I’d found my new “occupational therapy.”
A couple of years later, I went to Taxco, a small mining town about two hours south of Mexico City known for working silver. I stayed for a few months, taking classes with local silversmiths. I fell in love with everything about working with silver which, as one of my teachers told me, is an incredibly noble metal.
I’ve been making sterling silver rings and other jewelry for over 25 years. Friends and family seemed to love my rings, so I’d give them away gladly. I’ve always made a point of making sure they fit comfortably. People started telling me they rarely took them off.
First modeled in wax then individually cast, each piece is slightly different to the next.
I create handmade sterling silver jewelry inspired by the organic forms found in nature while embracing life’s imperfections. My pieces are designed with both aesthetic grace and ergonomic comfort in mind.
Two years ago, I decided to turn my occupational therapy into a profession.
