Miss Myrtle's Chocolate Chip Cookies

After my mother, Myrtle Joseph, a retired registered nurse and a native of St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands, passed away in 2001, I was lost. I coped during the holidays by baking cookies and sending them as gifts during Christmas.

The idea about creating chocolate chip cookies that had homemade taste and family appeal intrigued me. I wanted to create a constant reminder of who my mother was to me. So far after years of baking, promoting and strategics, I feel I have something which brings authenticity to people. I felt ready to bring change to a provincial baking establishment with new flavors no has tried before. Like habanero, ghost pepper and black truffle have amazed new fans of the brand.

Also, I’ve gotten request for flavors which I never had on the menu, and I tell customers to send a custom order by emailing me directly.

I believe an online chocolate chip cookie store stands apart from brick-and-mortar stores. I have a home business and what I’m proud of is the quality of my mother’s name attached to the cookies I bake. It’s the one of the best tributes I can think of.
