Founded by a Sri Lankan immigrant chef with 30 years in the New York food industry, Sivaro Snacks handcrafts flavored nuts and dried fruits in Queens using chef-developed recipes and clean, real ingredients.
Founded in 2020

Sivaro Snacks is a family-owned nut and dried fruit company based in Queens, New York. My father Yogie Kanagaraajah came to the United States as a refugee from Sri Lanka and spent 30 years building a career in the New York City food industry, including work as a chef at Marriott Hotels. Along the way he developed direct sourcing relationships with cashew farmers that most small brands never get access to. We started Sivaro in 2021 to put those relationships and his recipes to work.

Every product is handmade at a commercial kitchen in Long Island City. Our flavored nuts are roasted with maple syrup, not canola or seed oils, using real ingredients with names you can actually read. That might sound like a small thing, but the majority of packaged nut brands, including premium ones, still use seed oils. We sell nine SKUs across flavored cashews, almonds, and dried fruits. Current customers include Hudson Group at JFK Airport, Queens farmers markets, and a school pantry in the Bronx that serves families living in shelters and hotels with no cooking facilities.

We hold NYC MWBE and New York State MWBE certifications. Our packaging features the New York City skyline and a “Handmade in Queens” badge, which has worked particularly well at JFK where travelers pick it up as both a snack and a souvenir. We are a small operation right now, but the demand has been consistent and we are focused on growing carefully.
